Error: Cannot set src colorspace 2

On kdenlive ver 26.4.3, Gaussian blur and some other effects involving colour give the error message: Cannot set src colorspace 2.

I found this bug reported on github (issue #60998) but there doesn’t seem to be a fix provided there. Unfortunately this board won’t let me provide the link even though it’s in the GUI so please do a search to find it.

Anyone solved this problem?

This usually happens when MLT can’t convert the source clip’s pixel format for the effect pipeline. Check your project settings to make sure the working color space matches the source video, and check Clip Properties to see if the pixel format is recognized. If GPU processing or preview acceleration is turned on under Settings > Configure Kdenlive, try turning it off to test the CPU rendering path. Does the same thing happen if you test the official AppImage?

I’m using default project settings, which says “Colour space: ITU-R BT.709” which TBH I’ve never heard of. I’ve tried applying it to a title clip created internally to the program but it I can’t find a way to work out its colour space.

I can’t find any “GPU processing” (apart from Speech to Text) or “preview acceleration” options under Setting > Configure Kdenlive. Are you sure that’s where they’d be?

The latest appimage 26.8.2 doesn’t have this problem.

FYI, the bt.709 colorspace is the regular color space for most video clips (this is a good thing).
