Error message - The key sequence 'Shift+Del' is ambiguous

Hi. First time user of Kdenlive here.

I’ve cut a section on the time line, then selected the part between the cuts (both audio and video selected). Then I hit keyboard Shift+Delete.

Problem: Instead of executing the removal of the selection, Kdenlive raise an error dialog box:

The key sequence ‘Shift+Del’ is ambiguous. Use ‘Configure Keyboard Shortcuts’ from the ‘Settings’ menu to solve the ambiguity. No action will be triggered.

This is the very first time I install and testing Kdenlive and have done no additional modification nor change of settings.

System and versions

Kdenlive 26.04.3 (Flatpak)

OS: Linux Mint 22.3 - Kernel 6.17.0-35-generic - Cinnamon 6.6.7, X11

what I’ve tried so far

The obvious step to actually look into the Konfigure Keyboard Shortcut to manually look for duplicates, but none is found.

Workaround: It works when I right-click and select Extract Clip

Shortcuts are context-sensitive… so you have Main, Timeline, Project monitor, and Clip monitor views…

You won’t always find dupes in the settings… so you need to first go to ‘Configure shortcuts’ and then check the dropdown from Main to All Actions whilst the search bar has ‘Del’ and look for Shift_Del.

It could be a ‘delete clips’ or a ‘delete entry’ or a ‘remove space’ somewhere… or it could be a hard-coded system-level shortcut.

Ah thank you - I wasn’t aware the key combos was searchable as well

Ok, so this lead me to the immediate conclusion that this shortcut are indeed defined for two different actions - from a clean install:

After clearing the Shift+Del in the alternate column, the shortkey seems to work normal.
