Falkon Bookmarks Toolbar

My Falkon Bookmarks Toolbar’s bookmarks are too cramped. Is there a setting that fixes this?

Thanks for considering this issue.

i think FF solved this issue by having an overflow for when the width of the window gets filled like that.

you could put in a feature request for such a thing.

in the mean time you will probably just have to edit the bookmark names to make them shorter and/or have fewer of them in that tool bar.

You could use some css to set the max-width. You can check this by installing a falkon theme (~ /.local/share/falkon/themes/) and edit or add a max-width line to the bookmark section in the css file. There’s also a bookmark toolbar plugin but I believe it requires pyfalkon which isn’t always available in distros. But yeah, an overflow on the horizontal bookmarkbar would be handy. Especially since the sidebar bookmark setting doesn’t offer a mouseover show/hide option which is really annoying.

Can’t imagine why this isn’t fixed right out of the box.

Thanks for your response.
I don’t know who FF is, but I agree, my Bookmarks Toolbar has’t an overflow button, and the bookmarks that do show, are so compressed, only 1 to 5 letters are displaid.

its an abbreviation for FireFox

you may need to cut down on how many you keep on that toolbar… it’s mainly for quick access while the rest of your bookmarks can be shown in the side bar.

Not sure how that would be accomplished, because when I eliminate Toolbar bookmarks, it does the same for the side bar bookmarks.
I’ve given up on the Toolbar for the side bar, though I wish the side bar would auto collapse, and then pop-out when hovered. Having to delete it, then find it in the toolbar button when needed, seems ridiculous.
I only keep toiling with Falkon, because I find it the most stable while viewing live streams, or videos.

it’s just like firefox…
the the bookmarks toolbar are where the horizontal bar bookmarks are stored
he bookmarks menu in the sidebar are for the rest of your bookmarks.

and unsorted bookmarks seems to be where it saves new bookmarks by default unless you select another folder.

I’ve known Falkon since it was first released as qupzilla. It still has some…um…lack of gui options. With FF, for example, you can add folders to the toolbar. Lesser used bookmarks for example. Should you combine it with a autohidden bookmarksbar you’d end up with a clean interface. Same can be done with a browser called…Floorp ( what’s in a name). That FF based one, has quite a bit of gui options out of the box. Specific bookmarks in a sidebar for example. It has some stuff that in some default FF would require some serious css.
