So, as KDE Developer are you saying you have this feature request, I’m not saying in the works, but at least in the radar?
Did some of you talk internally about how to tackle all we spoke here? Any advance like split the idea into subtasks? Any progress at all?
Or a couple of post one year ago is enough to affirm “it’s not the case”?
In this case, there are two relevant KDE Bugtracking System issues that folks interested in this topic should add themselves to the CC list on:
- 485423 – Option to recover forgotten password on the login screen
- 485450 – Metabug: Things we can't feasibly do until we incubate and adopt SDDM
Getting those good ideas built requires folks with the time, ability, and interest to do so, to volunteer (or be employed/sponsored) to dig in and figure out how to implement them.
@malevolent - If you are wanting a feature to be developed more quickly, I would suggest either digging in to help figure out the technical/structural challenges, or helping figure out ways to sponsor folks to do so. Implying that other community members can’t comprehend English, are obtuse, are trolls, etc., and then making broadly negative statements about the current state of FOSS desktop software, is:
- Guaranteed to not create any more of the time or ability that is needed
- Unlikely to create interest
