Feature Request: File select dialogue same as Firefox

Kdenline is excellent. Thank You!

In the firefox upload selection box, simply type in a few letters to get filtered results, narrowing it down with each letter typed- with thumbnail display too

  • also searches from anywhere in the filename, not just the first letter

imo- this select box should be default for everything- it’s easier to find a file by the upload box than the file browser

Firefox uses GTK as it’s UI toolkit, and so the file picker out of the box on Firefox is the GTK one. This means that Kdenlive, which uses the Qt UI toolkit, can’t just use the same file picker, so this is probably not possible.
It is unfortunate that the KDE file picker doesn’t allow you to filter files, maybe that should be a feature request.
