[FEATURE REQUEST] Steam Game Recording Beta integration with kdenlive

With the arrival of GAME RECORDING Beta, will it be possible to integrate the valve recording system and kdenlive, to help with Kdenlive MARKERS and cuts to improve editing?

An integration between kdenlive and steam is what I’m asking for.
Is it possible for this feature to be implemented?

You would need to create a [Feature Request] in bugs.kde.org for that. This here is just a forum for help and support, not for bug fixing or FRs.

I created the url, I don’t know if I configured it properly.

Can you share a bit more about exactly what you want to do and what is missing from kdenlive that means you can’t already do it?

I know we have quite a few users editing various screencasts and the like, though steam doesn’t come up explicitly here often. So it might be good to split this into something like “improvements that would be good for screencasters in general” and “stuff specific to steam” whatever the latter might be.

“Integration with steam” is a bit on the broad side of actionable. Adding a button that sends you to steam’s site might be considered ‘integration’, so the more details you can provide about what you actually want to do, the more likely it is that some new change might do something like that.

And the more generally useful what you’re suggesting might be, the more likely it is that it will be an itch that someone who might implement it would also like to scratch.

Let’s go, I’ll try to explain it better.

In this system, every time an achievement is unlocked, a marker is included in the video recording.

A different clipping button, instead of subtracting the cut, makes a copy of the vod but exclusively for the clipping.
The duration of this clipping, by default in the system, is 12 seconds.

If the event is triggered, in the case of the achievement, this marker is triggered at the exact moment of the event.

However, the clipping starts 5 seconds in advance, to understand what happened, at instant 5 the achievement is triggered in the clip with another 7 seconds to see what happened next.

This marker contains the following information:
. Image of the achievement icon
. [Achievement name] completed (in the language configured by Steam)
For example: Lagoon city completed
. [Achievement description]
For example: Cleared all of LAGOON CITY.

You can find this example here:
steamdb . info / app / 2022670 / stats /
PS: Achievements have TRANSLATION in the Steam system

Why am I asking for this, for “LET’S PLAY” editions where every mistake, good or funny moments, would be easy to edit

Another thing, not necessarily only achievements will appear, if the game is properly scripted, as in the case of Valve games, it will show who you killed, who killed you, how you were incapacitated and all types of adversities that a log can generate.
