[Features Request] for KDE Connect

  1. Ability to connect to the phone when logging in from linux session, even if phone is locked and sleep mode - Feature present and tested in GSConnect but not working on KDE Connect, if the feature exists.

  2. Better notification mirroring including live phone notifications like installing apps from play store etc.

  3. Basic controls of settings for the mobile device (similar to volume control), including toggles of Wi-Fi (and hotspot), Bluetooth, DND, etc available in UI.

  4. Picking up calls, making calls with dialer, seeing call logs of phone and routing of audio to the device where Bluetooth is connected

  5. Ability to see all contacts making calls using the phonebook.

  6. Inbuilt screen mirroring - scrcpy integration or seperate

This is from the point of view of android phone and linux PC.

Add audio streaming to that lista. Apps like Audio Share can stream my audio from PC to Android via WiFi. Then i can put a 3.5 headset on it and enjoy a good moovie with great sound.

That should already work.

I get a connection as soon as I have logged in and my phone is always locked at that time.

Good suggestions. +1.

I don’t know if this idea is feasible, but I really wish I could synchronise files/directories between my PC and my smartphone/tablet, like Syncthing. If this feature could be implemented in KdeConnect, it would be very useful.

In this case, my Keepass databases, so that they’re always up to date.

Whats wrong with using syncthing? syncing is a very complex task and can cause loss of data if not done properly. Syncthing might be the preferred approach, since it has many other features too.

For some reason, this only works on gnome and GSconnect for my phone.

On kdeconnect and plasma, I have to double tap my phone screen a couple times so that it brightens up and shows lock screen, and then it connects. I tried allowing every permission on PC and phone but I couldnt do it for KDE Connect

Yeah that too. I believe this is a feature on windows phone link, but I really really want the kde connect to match all the features.

I don’t have any technical or coding knowledge to contribute either, so I really feel helpless. But I really hope I can do something about adding these features.

Does it have phone notification sync, SMS/call features?

It definitely is supposed to work.

Has worked for me reliably for many years, with different PCs and different phones.

There’s nothing wrong with Syncthing; it’s just a big piece of software. I find it a bit disproportionate for synchronising one or two Keepass databases between two devices.

Obviously, for more complex tasks, Syncthing remains the preferred solution.

Most of the time, when opening a KDE session in the morning, the smartphone is not connected.
