Firefox ramblings

What has happened to Firefox? Over the past few months its ability to interact with the desktop has diminished to the point of not being able to at all. It used to be able to interact with Dolphin, but now, it cannot even do that anymore. Drag and drop does not work anywhere.

I am hesitant to point the finger at Mozilla. If I were using the snap version, I would sort of understand. I am not though, I am using the PPA version. I thought I had an exception set for Firefox in apparmor, but I can no longer find it (that would have been a couple of years ago and I have completely forgotten how I did it) and it seems to enabled for Firefox again. Could apparmor or some other security setting be the culprit here?

A few days ago I noticed that Firefox suddenly uses Nemo instead of Dolphin despite that Dolphin is set as default.

And i have Nemo only installed as a secondary File-browser for nostalgic reasons. I used Nemo as Default back in the days when “open as Admin” with Dolphin was kinda “disabled with no way around for security reasons” aka broken. But because this is a relatively new installation (OS Age: 60 days) there should absolutely nothing be left from that old Nemo usage.

Security wise no special setting that goes above (Arch) default, rather even not everything fully set up at the moment as i still slowly figure out if Arch is something I want drive daily or not.
