While upgrading a machine after about one year, knotes would not show any notes. Selecting the notes folder in the config dialog did not help. Removing (by renaming) config files in $HOME/.config, deleting $HOME/.local/share/notes, recreating akonadi database and starting knotes afresh did not help. knotes always defaults to the ‘local-mail’ collection.
Here is the only solution I found:
- look for the id of $HOME/.local/share/notes in ‘collectiontable’ using akonadiconsole,
- set this id the ‘[SelectNoteFolder]/DefaultFolder’ entry of ‘$HOME/.config/globalnotesettings’.
Then all the notes got immediately available.
This is posted here for anybody getting in same trouble, and by chance, for developer attention.
Average Joe would have a hard time fixing that.
