Flatpak statistics & control in SystemMonitor

Hey there!

When looking at systemmonitor, all the Flatpak apps lack infos about their CPU usage.

Maybe also more, like network up/down, I currently dont have any statistics on that, may be a missing package.

Do you know if this is a known issue?

Fedora 41 Kinoite, Plasma 6.2.3

do you mean your system monitors do not reflect usage of flatpaks?

or are you looking for a some kind of breakdown of flatpak vs everything else?

because when i open a flatpak like onlyoffice, all my system monitors respond to the demands being placed on the system from CPU all the way down to disk usage.

but there is no line item for just flatpak usage.

I use a lot of flatpaks, which spawn different processes. They are detected, but systemmonitor doesnt tell me the CPU usage. It does tell the RAM usage

for CPU under ALL i use the total usage % monitor and it shows results when i’m using a flatpak.

if you are just monitoring a selected core, it may be that the flatpak is using a different core than what you are monitoring.

No idea if we talk about different things here.

In “plasma-systemmonitor”, the “processes” tab, the table. Flatpak processes dont show CPU usage

ur right, i was talking about something else.

so when i start onlyoffice i don’t even see it listed by name on the processes tab… instead the activity seems to show up under DesktopEditors and editors_helper line items.

they do show cpu usage tho.

perhaps you have something similar going on.

Yes the process names are different.

Flatpak has an integrated ps or something tool. Would be great to use that, and group child processes under the main one. Especially for browsers etc.

Hmm, that’s strange - I use the NeoChat Flatpak, and as far as I can tell, I’m seeing the relevant stats in the System Monitor Processes tab:

If you use an command-line tool like htop, btop, or something like that, do you see those stats there?

You have more stats there than me for sure

Maybe there is a package missing?

Perhaps, or something off in the Kinoite image? Do you see their stats in a CLI tool?
