Focus Stealing Prevention Issues/questions

I am not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but I have recently become aware of some issues with focus stealing which are a bit annoying. First of all, when I put a DVD in the drive a popup is shown which steals the input focus. I have no issue with there being a popup, but stealing input focus was wrong. I fixed this by configuring “Removable Devices” to not have a popup. I am quite happy with this, but perhaps it would be good if a popup can be displayed without stealing the input focus?

Anyway, I noticed after the latest update that when I click a link in an email, the browser is not brought to the top of the window stack, unless the “Focus Stealing Prevention” setting is “None”. With the setting “Low”, the browser opens the link in it’s window, but the window is still in it’s original position (possibly covered) in the stack.

So if I set the “Focus Stealing Prevention” to “None” to fix the browser/email client issue, then the telegram client pops up and steals the input focus when a message is received. This is annoying if I am in an editor typing something else.

Have I missed something with the focus stealing capabilities of the latest version?

Thanks in advance for your comments, and many, many thanks for the work everyone puts into KDE Plasma and the associated applications.

I have this exact issue as well, but when I was using x11 this wasn’t the case. I don’t know if it’s because of a wayland regression or x11 handling things completely differently in this case.

@repasidavid - thanks for the comment. I have used Wayland only for more than 12 months, and I am pretty convinced this behaviour changed with the latest big update. I could be wrong of course!
