Frustration with applying ICC color profile

So I have a new display, and when I try to apply a color profile i keep getting this message.

Couldn’t apply display configuration: ICC profile “/home/jtorral/Downloads/sRGB_v4_ICC_preference_displayclass.icc” has unsupported connection space, only XYZ is supported

Yet, if I switch to classic Gnome i can apply the profile.

I have googled this message and cannot find answers for it anywhere. Any clues ?

Thanks !

JT

Most likely that profile uses Lab as the connection space, which we still need to add support for (which shouldn’t actually be all that complicated I think, but someone needs to spend the time to do it and verify accuracy of the implementation).

Gnome doesn’t actually fully support ICC profiles, they only apply the VCGT.

More importantly, if you want the display profile to be sRGB, you shouldn’t use an sRGB profile. It’s very stupid, but “sRGB” profiles don’t usually actually describe an sRGB display :frowning:

If you set the color profile of the display to “None”, KWin will assume the display is sRGB.
