FTP server with GUI

HI,

I need a ftp server with a gui, is kde abble to provide one product ?

KFTPgrabber is unfortunately no more present,

is krasader abble to be a ftp server ?
https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/krusader/krusader/welcome.html

If KDE don’t do that I’ll use the other alternative product

thanks in advance for your answer.

Hi @nl.smart!

Do you want an FTP server or a client? I ask because KFTPgrabber is/was actually a client, not a server.

I know I have seen an FTP server with GUI but it was a long time ago and I don’t remember what it was.

As far as I know, KDE doesn’t provide server software in general, and I don’t see an official FTP client either.

Most people I know use FileZilla as an FTP (and other protocols) client:

Which, now that I look at their website, I see they also have an FTP server!

Thanks for your answer

I need a ftp server, for the ftp client I use for years filezilla.

GUIs for server applications are more of a Windows thing.

Are you looking to just quickly share files from one device on your network to another? There are likely many easier-to-use apps for that instead of the rather older FTP service.

thanks for your reply.

I agree with you, gui software’s are more win users, but I’m not a power user, I prefer the gui soft

For the files transfer on lan or outside the home with a public ip, a ftp server is needed…

There are many ways to transfer files inside or outside your network without FTP. Nextcloud for instance, has many free storage services online, you can send most small or medium files with instant messengers as well, etc.
