I have the odd gnome-base programs, and they lack any file association.

Is there something that bridges the gap between gnome libs and my KDE system?

for example, if I open shotwell and try to edit a picture, and claims there’s no program associated with images file type, when I obviously have them associated in KDE.

This is strange.

File associations are handled through the same file $HOME/.config/mimeapps.list

strange indeed. That file seems OK here.

shotwell sometimes complain about not finding “gimp” and completely disabling the “photo > open with external editor” option :confused:
