Graphic pen left click+drag issue

Hi,

Sometimes I’ll login with Wayland to see the progress and this is my latest found.

I’m using a Wacom graphic pen and I have issues with the left click+drag as it’s not working.

With Dolphin I can’t move or copy files (or folders) as left click&drag is not working (using mouse to double check is correctly working)

With Firefox I can’t drag tabs

Have I to add a bug on the bugtracker system?

I was able to duplicate this on Plasma 6.4.5.

I’m in the process of gathering info for another tablet bug, so I can file one for this too if this isn’t known.

So the press-drag works moving files in the 6.5 beta, so some aspects seem to have been fixed.

But there are still issues with using the button as a mouse click, as it just sends a single click even if you hold the button down. Meaning you can use the button to select or click things, but not drag them. Maybe because using the tip to hold-drag does the same thing, but having the button specifically set to mouse but not behave like one does seem a little unintuitive.

It’s probably just an oversight when I implemented it, please file a bug under KWin | Input and then link it here so I can assign myself to it. It’s too late to get it into 6.5 (I also have no idea if it would break existing configs for example) but we can look into it for the future

I did a bit more testing and it seems to be inconsistent.

For example, pressing the button and dragging a window titlebar to move it around works, and it stops once letting go of the button as it should.

But browser tabs cannot be moved in the same way (I’m sure this is a Firefox issue because it’s Firefox), or files in Dolphin. There the button acts as a single button press/release left click I wonder if it could be an app-specific thing rather than an overall issue.

While gathering info for the other issue I tried using the KWin debugger for this but I’m wondering if there’s a way to log the output to a file? It’s hard to determine what’s happening otherwise and with the scrollback not working due to, well, more input. I tried seeing if there was a way to do this via the command line but it just launches the console window regardless.

Not yet, it’s on my todolist to improve eventually with some kind of export option.
