Grub longer boot delay after automatic updates

I have set my grub boot manager to boot after 3s pause, but after applying automatic updates, it waits for ten seconds. Why is that, and how can I change it?

mine changed from 5 sec to 30 sect on the automated reboot until i unchecked offline updates in the settings.

for some reason the automated reboot call changes the built in time by some multiplier or something… likely baked into the code.

i would just turn it off and reboot when you feel you need to.

That is certainly possible, and I think I have done so in the past already. But there should be a more accurate way to do it, shouldn’t it?

i don’t know what the reasoning is behind extending the boot timer for the automated reboot process, but i’m sure there is one, otherwise why bother?

still takes less time than manually booting, i would wager.
