My system: Debian 12.5, KDE Plasma 5.27.5, QT 5.15.8, Kernel 6.1.0-21-amd64, X11
Problem: Gwenview and DragonPlayer don’t play videos and pictures in NTFS Veracrypt disk mounted, just by clicking on files. When i click files, the typical Dragon and Gwen launch animations (jumping icons) appear next to the mouse pointer. But then nothing happens. At the same time if i just launch blank Gwen or Dragon and go >>Open in menu inside, and navigate to the path of the mounted veracrypt disk, then all files open without problems. But it’s not convenient to do that every time. I want the files to be opened directly from Dolphin by mouse click.
I tried to use VLC and Xnview, and they open everything normally without any problems directly in Dolphin via mouse click. Ist’s seems the problem is not about veracrypt, but about KDE itself or these programs Dragon and Gwen.
What I tried to solve this problem:
- immediately thought that I need some rights to the folder/files. I tried in Dolphin>right-click in the properties of the entire mounted disk under vercrypt, gave all permissions to all groups, applied, including all subfolders. Dolphin ran this procedure for a long time, the disk rustled. And It didn’t change anything.
Then if i go into those properties again, everything resets back to how it was before applying those permissions.
