hi, welcome.
according to the website the nightly build is the only one available for macos unless you compile it yourself.
and like the appimage it comes with all the code it needs to run so, i’m not seeing any version requirements for macos at all… i would recommend the most updated one tho.

When I try to start kate from kate-master-10607-macos-clang-x86_64.dmg I just get an alert saying that the program needs at least Mac OS 12.0.
I’m on a MacBook Pro 13” Retina late-2013, so no Mac OS > 11.x. I plan to use OCLP but for that I’ll have to swap the internal 3rd-party SSD for an Apple model. No way at this time as I’m in the middle of a few projects. And no, Linux is not an DE alternative for Mac OS.
