Dear all,
I am a bit desperate to export a 10 minute video clip for an academic work. The exporter takes about 3 hours to do so. I am new to the software so I may be doing something wrong? I am trying to export Full HD BTW.
Kdenlive also detect my nvidia card and offers GPU acceleration but using one of the gpu accelerated export profiles (experimental) seems to do nothing (no GPU ativity on the task manager, and same long time to export).
All help appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to the forum and community.
Kdenlive can use GPU support only for the encoding part of the export. All effects, filters, transitions, and compositing is done by MLT which unfortunately doesn’t use HW acceleration. So, the bigger your sources (4K) and the more effects you use, the longer it takes to render your project.
Thanks and thanks for the information. Yes, that should be it since I had some effects and filters - disabled some and it became faster. An image source was also big (5000px x 5000px). Fingers crossed so that someday MLT can use HW acceleration, this really hinders an incredible software.
