Why does KDE Plasma show my hotspot as a different network when I turn it on? And it behaves that way too. I can’t use Wi-Fi, I can only share my wired internet connection. Can this be fixed? Or is it distribution-dependent?
That might be out of Plasma’s control and what the network services does, e.g. Network Manager.
It’s been a long time since I’ve used that but that computer only had one Wi-Fi device so the wired connection was the only one left to share.
I would expect that a computer with two Wi-Fi devices could share one the same way as wired.

Okay, if there is something wrong with this network, I will forward the issue to the distribution I am experiencing it with for default fixes, but it is happening in both KDE and GNOME, which seems to indicate that it is something external.
