How are windows continuing to render with translucent backgrounds when transparency is disabled?

Disabling blur has worked to demonstrate it:

…because disabling transparency does not appear to work:

I’ve attempted to screenshot it via spectacle’s “Active window” mode:

However, it solely renders outside of that:
