How can I do to switch the default graphic protocol from Wayland to X11?

Greeting, KDE fanboys, I had using KDE Plasma since 2018, and I had upgrade to KDE Neon 6.

The default graphic protocol for KDE Nen 6.2 become Wayland instead of the traditional X11, however I still like X11.

So, when I turn on my computer every time, I have to manually switch to X11 by logging out, I don’t know if there is any idea which I can switch the default graphic protocol from Wayland to X11 when I turn on my computer.

Any advice are much grateful, thank you in advance and have a nice day.

Open System Settings, search for SDDM, click behavior on the top, check the box to always autologin, select your user, then select x11, click apply and you should be good to go.

Thank you so much.

It works.

SDDM is supposed to remember your previous login choice. So, even if you didn’t see the default session at the bottom left at your first login for some reason, it should have remembered the choice when you selected it on the second one. You may have something wrong with your login manager, perhaps.

If you don’t want to use auto-login, you might try manually setting it via a config file you create, such as /etc/sddm.conf.d/10-display-server-x11.conf or something similar.

In it, put this:

[General]
DisplayServer=x11

Save, and see if that works.

claydoh is right it should have remembered your last choice without having to adjust SDDM.
