How do I save tool seetings?

Hi, Am I missing something obvious? How do I save tool settings? For example, the Smart Patch Tool. I’ve changed the brush size, opacity, patch radius and accuracy. How do I make my settings stick as the default? These settings reset to defaults every time I load a new image.
