How do I set the threshold for mouse pointer movement?

I’m currently setting up a new PC with Kubuntu 25.10 – Plasma 6.4.5, QT 6.9.2 and Wayland.

My input devices are a Kensington SlimBlade Pro trackball and an Evoluent VerticalMouse D. Both are recognised by KDE. In the system settings, I can adjust the pointer speed, pointer acceleration and scroll speed.

As I sometimes unintentionally make movements with my hand (e.g. when I click), I’d like to set a threshold for pointer movement - how?

i just use the tiny button on the side of the mouse and keep it on the first led

that’s the lowest sensitivity and it works well for me to avoid jitter when i hit the any of the MBs

if you want more acceleration, you can turn that on in the plasma settings.

Acceleration isn’t my problem; it’s the delay. When I press a mouse button, I seem to move the mouse involuntarily and unintentionally. Even if it’s only by a few pixels, this often leads to unintended actions.

In the KDE System Settings, under Accessibility > Mouse Control, there is an access delay (160ms); that is probably what I’m looking for, but not for the numeric keypad, but for the mouse.
