How do I stop KDE considering I'm disconnected to the internet, if my Ethernet can't access outside its LAN?

It keeps disabling my Ethernet port

0 is highest priority, so make the Ethernet port 0.

Note, this might not be your problem, but it would be my first guess.

Personally, I don’t enable the wifi unless I need it, but that is just old habit.

I do need Wi-Fi - it’s how I’m connecting to the internet. Ethernet in this case is solely for a LAN not connected to the wider International Network.

Maybe it’s a DNS server or NTP server outside that it is trying to reach?

I expect so – I expect that if Plasma detects that any network hardware is able to reach the OS-designated NTP server, that any hardware unable to do so is defective. This assumption is incorrect.
