How get quick search option work in synaptic?

What has always worked in Ubuntu or Linux Mint, namely adding quick search to the Synaptic package manager retrospectively, has unfortunately not worked so far in Feren OS, which has a KDE Plasma environment.

This is the simple solution we have used up to now:

apt-get install apt-xapian-index

and afterwards

update-apt-xapian-index -vf

I tried both, but the quick search is still not working.

Is there anything else or additional required in KDE?

I just read that Synaptic is visually deprecated. In KDE one could get friend with the similar Muon or Discover package managers.

After installing them both have to admit that it is quite easy to switch to them and to give up my request for quick search filter for synaptic.
