How to auto-mount an encrypted drive on attach?

I have a LUKS-encrypted external HDD. I already let Plasma save the password, so when I plug it in I only need to click on the tray icon, select “Mount”, and then “OK” when it pre-fills the password.

Is there any way to make this auto-mount when I plug in in?

In this picture you can see (or maybe not, it’s white vs very light grey) that the checkbox for “On Attach” is greyed out for the “1.8 TB Encrypted Drive” as well as “backup” (which is the name of that drive’s partition I think, either way it’s the same disk). So I can’t ask Plasma to auto-mount it. However, Plasma has the password saved so I don’t see why not.

the greyed out box just means you have checked the “all known devices” box.

if you want to explicitly check the 1TB and backup manually, then uncheck the top box and you will be able to check them individually (which is what do, because there are some i don’t want to mount).

i’ve also checked the “on login” column as well for each device i want to see connected in dolphin.

Ah, I see. This seems to work now. It’s strange that “all known devices” didn’t work in the same way. I enabled it for the 1TB disk and it will now immediately go the password prompt.

Thanks!
