This is awesome, I am not sure if the update to Kubuntu 24.04 (from 2204) or setting this helped but now most of my multiscreen issues are gone (like windows shifting all to the wrong screen, and they just stay where they are, as they should)
@incans, what’s the URI to it?
The original bug logged against KDE (using the setting app) is https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=500495
It was subsequently determined the bug lay within SDDM so I re-submitted it against SDDM- SDDM ignores screen rotation settings in kwinoutputconfig.json · Issue #2048 · sddm/sddm · GitHub
Well, it’s not.
“Applying Plasma settings” literally changes nothing, my SDDM is still tilted 90• counterclockwise
The best hope is that this is more likely to be fixed in the new KDE login manager coming in KDE 6.6 that is going to replace SDDM as the default I believe.
Should still be fixed in SDDM, because of the whole new KDE login manager systemd only (non) issue, to keep it a non issue, though. ![]()
For me with my multi Monitor setup at least it worked after switching SDDM to wayland and ditching X11 completely. On the other hand the xrandr workarounds mentioned above will no longer work after that.
