How to configure the "Manually Block" button -- affecting only the sleep function and not screen lock

Hi, Currently the “Manually Block” button inhibits the system sleep and the monitor turning off.
Is there a possibility configure the button to prevent system sleep but allow the monitor to turn off.

If not possible with the button any other command to achieve the same?

Thanks.

in settings > energy saving

you can set screen saver only as one of the options, just don’t check anything for sleep or suspend.

the manually block is only if you want to keep these features from working temporarily.

I know I can set the system not to suspend and the monitor not to sleep individually. I want a but or change the behaviour of the existing button to:

  • allow monitor to sleep
  • prevent the system to sleep

so you want your system to normally sleep and turn off the monitor per power settings, but…

your use case is: you need to be able to let the system turn off the monitor automatically while blocking the system from going to sleep (presumably to save energy from the monitor, but keep a process running on the machine)

the block feature in the system tray widget does not impact monitor power savings, only screen locking (which is a separate thing).

so your question/suggestion is really three fold… how to:

  1. separate the sleep blocking function from screen actions

  2. access the monitor power savings from the widget

  3. control the screen locking and monitor power separately

this would seem to me a worthwhile feature request or wishlist item.

i’m not familiar enough with the widget qml to figure out what command it is using.
