Where can I find guidance on how to correctly set up KUbuntu from an Ubuntu debootstrap?
I followed the ZFS Boot Menu instructions to debootstrap Noble with ZFS in a VM (prior to deploying in production), and subsequently installed the kubuntu-desktop package to get up and running. There is a discrepancy in the installed packages between the debootstrapped system and a Kubuntu-normal installation from the ISO.
My goal is to make the system be as close to a freshly installed ISO as possible.
I would like:
- the same default system configuration
- the same packages with the correct marking (automatically/installed) for when it is time to upgrade and automatically remove unneccessary software
- the only differences to be related to the zfsbootmenu/grub boot loader and the surrounding machinery
