Ghostwriter is currently my favorite simple text editor, and I appreciate its unique features. Recently, I started working on a writer’s cyberdeck for journaling, using a Raspberry Pi 2W to run Ghostwriter. I’ve encountered an issue where, after writing a significant amount of text, my CPU gradually spikes to 101%. Initially, I thought it was due to limited RAM, but it seems the culprit might be Ghostwriter’s Markdown highlighting feature. It appears that after typing a letter, the CPU runs through the entire file to update the Markdown highlighting, causing the issue.
So, my main question is: Is it possible to deactivate Markdown highlighting in Ghostwriter? I would like to use it as a very efficient simple text editor without this feature causing performance problems.
