Hello, I am a newbi with kdenlive, I used vegas before and I wans’t bad with it, but I decided to switch with kdenlive and try to do a simple montage with it. (I would like to point out that I have never touched audio before, or at least, not anything advanced.)
But now, I have a little problem that I can’t seem to solve. There is a sentence in the audio that is pronounced normally, but I would like to be able to make the last vowel pronounced last a little longer like in pokemon with team rocket. I have been looking for a solution for a month without success.
the sentence that is prononce in the audio is “come on let’s go”, like that, nothing more, but I tried to make it like this “come on let’s gooooooooooooooooooooooo”.
If anyone has a video, or a recommendation as to how to do this, even a direction where to look, I would be infinitely grateful.
Hello @Oursshi welcome to Kdenlive. Did you find a tool in Vegas Pro to do it?
With Kdenlive you will probably have to tinker a bit. You can change the speed, but then it won’t become a g o o o o o with lots of o. Also, the pitch will be too low or even destroyed. You would have to cut the audio exactly where the o is spoken and then insert this little snippet several times. This can work well, but is a bit tedious.
Or you can put a reverb in the right place. So that everything doesn’t turn into an endless reverb, you also have to cut off this last bit of o and only apply the reverb there. However, you still need enough “meat” after the o, i.e. a quiet clip, so that the reverb can unfold. It also requires a lot of work.
If you could upload this audio for us, I would give it a try. I have also given up the comfort zone of Windows and Vegas Pro and now only work with Linux and Kdenlive. I’m very happy with my switch.
To me, kdenlive is the wrong tool for the job. To get something like this:
from pokemon, you should instead use an audio editor to modify the pitch and speed of the audio clip. Audacity is one such program. I do believe KDE has their own audio editing program that’s meant for basic edits.
