Searching for the topic brings many answers for people who have the virtual keyboard but do not want it.

I’m on the opposite. I want to use touchscreen and login but I get no keyboard on screen.

Using the default “breeze” sddm there is a button on the lower left for “Virtual Keyboard” but unfortunately it does nothing visible.

I have the plasma keyboard “maliit” installed as well as qt6-virtualkeyboard and even qt5-virtualkeyboard.

What am I missing?

qt5-wayland most probably, as it is what you need on Arch.

meanwhile I switched distros to one where it worked out of the box.
Just checking … it does have qt5-wayland

thanks
