How to remove shadow applications from the start menu?

Hello!

I have what i believe to be a bug where it shows a application that i had formerly added myself in the start menu that i cannot remove anymore.

I had downloaded the repository of this application and created the menu item via the KDE Menu Editor. Ever since i have removed the application from my system (replacing it with a flatpak version / second item in the image above) i cannot remove this invalid first item anymore.

To be specific, i was able to remove it once but it kept on showing in the start menu, but doesnt so anymore in the KDE Menu Editor

[second image in the next post. KDE forum limit]

Im uncertain how to go about removing this item.

Thanks in advance (:

You should find it in ~/.local/share/applications. Delete it from there.

Yes thank you very much! I removed the item from there and then rebooted the desktop using this [a link the forum doesnt allow me to post]

But with these commands

kquitapp6 plasmashell
kstart plasmashell

You’re welcome!

JFYI the better way to restart Plasma these days is these days is systemctl restart --user plasma-plasmashell.
