How to reprint reconciliation report in kmymoney. All the online help I’ve found says to go to Report, Bank Reports, etc… but when I open the report item on the main screen, I just get a list of 11 categories, none of which are Banking Reports.
I suppose it is unfortunate that the program does use the term “report” in two separate ways. One is related to the “Reports View” which you can select in the view selector on the left. That seems to be what you have found all help referring to.
Separately, there are a number of actions you can take (I can think of data import and reconciliation) each of which displays a “report” at the end of the process. You should be able to print those reports while they are displayed, but I don’t believe there is any way to print them once you have closed the window, as they are not actually stored.
IF you really need to reproduce a reconciliation report, the only way I can think of is to open the backup you made prior to doing the reconciliation (another reason why it’s good to backup early and often) and redo the reconciliation. Note this does not necessarily need to be a backup from the File/Backup menu item, but just saving the data file, assuming you have KMM set to retain several versions. This is set with the “Number of backups to keep” on the general tab of the general section of the KMM Configuration dialog.
Separately, I don’t recall any use of the actual term “Banking Reports” in the handbook. If you can point me to the location, I’ll see if I can improve the description.
@whalento You could try the following:
- Mark all the transaction of that reconciliation to the cleared state (C)
- Start the reconciliation as before (don’t worry about the
- Set the date to the prior reconciliation date
- Finish the reconciliation
- Get the ‘report’
- Quit KMyMoney without saving the file
I can imagine that some of the output is not correct, but that is the best you could get right now.
Thank you ipwizard!
Thank you Jack for the very thorough response. As you mentioned, prob not important enough to restore one of my backups (which I do after each month end and reconciliation). Just interesting that I managed to print the report for three of my accounts, but somehow missed this one account, obviously just clicked right through the prompt and didn’t even realize it! May be an opportunity to change the prompt slightly for old computer geezers who don’t see so well or don’t pay close attention You asked for the source of the guidance to Reports/Banking Reports. For the life of me I can’t find the links I saw yesterday. It’ll bug me so I’ll continue looking and will let you know if/when I find them.
