How can I download a color scheme on Plasma 6.2.5?
Linux Manjaro
Hello! There are several ways to install color schemes in KDE.
1st method: Using System Settings
Open System Settings => Colors & Themes => Colors, then click “Get New…” in the upper right corner.
A window with all available resources will appear.
2nd method: Using Discover
Open Discover, go to Plasma Addons, then select Color Schemes.
That’s it! Your themes will be listed there. Personally, I find this method even more reliable.
3rd method: Installing from a file
You can download a “.colors” file from the KDE Store or another source and install it manually.
Follow the same steps as in the first method, but instead of “Get New…”, click “Install from File” and select your .colors file.
(Or even easier — just drag and drop the .colors file into System Settings!)
I mean how to save my color scheme?
Like how to get it as a file?
With Manjaro, as with any other distribution, you simply install OCS installer (as it tells you if you download from KDE store).
You should learn to be more specific - what scheme, from where etc.
IF you download a random file like blues.colors
then save it to the ~/.local/share/color-schemes
folder.
You can also edit those files directly, copy them, or edit them in the settings module - creating a copy first by choosing ‘Save As…’ and entering a name, so maybe edit blue.colors
and save as 01 blue.colors
to show it’s your variation.
I mean I got only 5 schemes in folder, while in System Settings I got one more, so how to get a file of it?
(P.s. I know it’s so bad, have a pity on me )
As previously mentioned ( twice), don’t look in /usr/share but in ~/.local/share/color-schemes.
And I looked, but there’s like only five…
Wait, I will check again, maybe I’m tweaking.
Yes I was right, I completely tweaking. Sorry for this one…
Never found it through file search so thought it’s just in different location…
Not sure how this is about the question in the topic.
You’re right, I don’t read all the post, shame on me.
Nahhh all fine, you are not the first one to misunderstand a post tho).
Shame? Dude, this ain’t court. No worries.
You are looking in the SYSTEM folder /usr/share/
- and those are files, so your system has those files.
You can do this from the settings dialog, click the PENCIL (edit) for BreezeLight.colors - then select ‘Save As…’ and enter a name 01 BreezyLITE
.
When you save this, it will appear in ~/.local/share/color-schemes.
