After directly waking from hibernation, I can understand why “Disks and Devices” is launched because it’s configured to show popup when a device is connected, but why does Kickoff also show itself?
Any config to stop this weird behavior?
weird. i don’t have either of those launch or show anything when waking from hibernation.
i get the screen saver login screen and then go strait to the desktop right where i left it, blinking cursor location and everything.
but then i’m not using the built in Energy Savings settings, but rather run a systemctrl script instead since my native install would not pick up that my PC can hibernate at all (which it obviously can).
“Disks and Devices” applet is opened because I always have an external storage connected to my laptop.
But the Launcher Kickoff is shown most of the time especially when I hibernate while letting any app opened and visible on desktop.
Sometimes if I minimize all opened apps and let only wallpaper’s desktop visible, Kickoff doesn’t show itself after waking from hibernation.
i had something similar on my older pc where disk and devices would spam the desktop as the connections kept going in and out on the SATA devices that were connected via a failing controller chip… i hope that’s not what you are seeing.
as for the kick off, i have mine set to launch on the META key press so i wonder if your system is somehow detecting a shortcut key press that is activating the menu.
i would start combing thru the logs to try and pinpoint what is happening.
