I have installed Dolphin file manager on Windows 11. I have really customized it to my needs, changed tons of setting and now Dolphin is amazing just like I need it.
Now I have another Windows 11 machine. Is there some way to just copy paste the customized settings from primary to secondary computer?
I’ve tried:
I have closed down Dolphin on primary and secondary computer. Then from primary computer I have copied content of:
%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\dolphin
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\dolphin
to secondary computer. Started up Dolphin on secondary computer, but it looks just like before, no changes are visible. Probably something else must also be changed.
Found the one settings file I didn’t where it was, it save the buttons panel positions:
Copy over:
~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/dolphin // the ui settings (buttons/panel positions) (the 5 is an insignificant leftover) to %userprofile%\AppData\Local\kxmlgui5/dolphin
~/.config/dolphinrc // the app settings, to %userprofile%\AppData\Local\dolphinrc I think
@meven, I have copied file %userprofile%\AppData\Local\kxmlgui5\dolphin\dolphinui.rc from primary to secondary PC and then launched Dolphin. I see some of the settings did change on secondary and are not the same as on primary, but not all of them. I see for example on primary I have menus turned on, but on secondary there is no menu displayed. Also see left panels are not the same. On primary there is only one, on secondary there are two panes. I don’t know what else is not the same. I will need to test very deeply to see the differences.
Is there some other file for settings? Are there maybe some Windows registry settings or similar?
