This is not easy for me to ask for a few reasons I won’t get into but I was wondering if there is a way to activate these keys like the virtual keyboard in windows
I have been told that there are ones in X11 that can do this but not wayland (i am not sure what either of those things really mean) but everyone discourages the use of X11 so I am not really sure what you expect us to do in this situation.
Is there perhaps another application or widget or something that can perform this function or should I just give up and return to Windows?
Thank you.

I’m sorry, I don’t really use a virtual keyboard - though I did try ‘onboard’ a couple of years ago to see if it’d help me type in Thai with my worn out physical keyboard…
Sticky keys
This feature watches the six modifier keys - left and right control, alt, and shift. When you tap one of those keys, the next key you tap will be passed on as control-C, shift-Enter, alt-S, etc.
You can find Sticky Keys in your settings (an Accessibility function) where there are also other options - such as the option to LOCK sticky keys.
Other options for how to disable/exit, ring system bell, show notifications etc are available there too.

I am not sure what sticky keys have to do with the virtual keyboard?
I don’t know how you’re using the keyboard, if clicking the keys one by one, then I guessed ‘sticky keys’ would let you click them one by one.
I’m sorry, I don’t use it and I don’t really understand what’s being attempted here.
How are you typing text into the forum here?
excluding the login screen where it doesn’t work as far as I know you can use this:
I’m sorry? I’m talking about the VIRTUAL keyboard.
yes, except for the login screen. (which is “sddm”, the Simple Desktop Display Manager)
