Huge potential for the current tiling manager

I love the editing interface for the current tiling manager/window manager that is accessed via Super+t. It’s snappy, allows a pretty high level of customization, and is intuitive. However there is nothing else in the settings that expands on the configuration, control, or keyboard shortcuts for this feature.

The keyboard shortcut Super + arrow keys also seems to use some other independent window manager.

It would be amazing if automatic tiling was incorporated (eg. predetermined locations for new windows), and keyboard shortcuts for placing windows into those predetermined tiles.

It seems to me that the two tiling features could be combined into one as well but there might be a use case to keep them separate.

You

Look into “custom tile” shortcuts, search for word “custom”. Those can be used to move tiles between the customized ones.

you can’t combine them without losing some of what makes each one great.

but you can absolutely add shortcuts for the Move feature like Meta+Shift+m that will allow you to move a window to a tile for either scheme by just dragging it with the mouse and releasing or holding the shift key

This is great - I had looked but was just using the wrong search terms. Now if there was automatic tiling this would be a very strong native TWM
