I can't move things between desktops or place files from USB/External HD

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with KDE where I can’t move icons or files from one desktop to another. I’m currently only using one desktop, but the issue persists even then—I can’t place files from my USB drives or external hard drive directly onto the desktop.

The files are not in safe mode, and I’ve already tried downgrading KDE to earlier versions, but the problem is still there.

I’ve encountered a similar bug, except I’m able to copy into a new folder; then past to a desktop; but I can’t move between desktops. I reported it with bugzilla #507060; check it out and if it looks like a similar issue add yours in there. Someone commented that their having the same issue. It’s not unique.
