I have an issue with kleopatra

So I have an issue with kleopatra. I want to create a new key pair, but I can’t do that. When I try to generate key I see on my display an error.
Error:
The creation of a new OpenPGP certificate failed.
Error: /pinentry error/

This only happens when I select the option to add a password to my new key.

Please help me.

I have a related issue - Kleopatra (on Debian) won’t allow me to import public keys. The import button is greyed out, even when a public key is correctly formatted in notepad. Also, I can’t achieve this through importing a .txt or .asc file (Processed 0, Imported 0). Does anyone have any pointers?
