I removed KOrganizer, but still get notifications - how to stop them?

As the subject states, I removed KOrganizer using the Mint Software Manager tool, but I am still getting notifications for the daily events (medication reminders) I set up in the calendar. How do I stop those notifications?

korganizer comes with a suite of other things, and you need to remove all of them as well as purge your user files to finally be rid of it.

do you have synaptic or know how to use apt on the command line?

I am not a Linux expert, but I can use commands and have used apt. The thing is, I get the command syntax from forums like this one.

Regarding synaptic, if it comes with the Mint distro, then I have it.

Update: Yes, I have it and launched it a minute ago.

you can use synaptic to remove

korganizer
kontact
kaddrbook
kalendar
akonadi-server
kdepim-runtime
kdepim-addons

and select the “remove completely” option that will purge your user files as well.

Thanks for the reply! The only items Synaptic could mark for complete removal were akonadi-server and kdepim-runtime. I have completely removed them.

The remove options were grayed out for all the other items on the list.

I think I need to wait until tomorrow to see if this worked because there are no more daily reminders for today. The next one would be for early tomorrow morning.

from my notes

#then wade thru ~/.config and delete any files related to the search terms:
alendar
organizer
ontact
addr
mail
akonadi
kdepim

#then delete the ~/.cache folder and restart

You are my hero for the day! Your guidance stopped the (very annoying!) notifications and also stopped 11 akonadi processes from auto-running.

Thank you!!!
