Hi - in Plasma 6.3, that setting specifically controls whether or not the audio indicator icon in the Task Manager is interactive and mutes that specific application - the icon itself is now always displayed.
If you want to check out the background behind that change, the merge request discussion happened here: Rethink 'Mark applications that play audio' (!2590) · Merge requests · Plasma / Plasma Desktop · GitLab
And if you view the inability to remove that icon as a bug, then I’d suggest adding yourself to the CC list on the following KDE Bugtracking System ticket: 499891 – Speaker icon in Icons-Only Task bar can not be removed
Thank you for the information.
In my opinion there should be an option to make it invisible ![]()
If you want to get the old one back, grab the old files from one of your system backups if you have any, or download it here GitHub - Zorrototo/org.kde.plasma.taskmanager: Copy to ~/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/ and place the files in your Home at ~/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.taskmanager so it overrides the new one. Delete the folder when the new one is “fixed” or a solution is found.
Why? please do not limit our freedom of choice, I do not want to see this sound indicator
The rest of my message provides links to the discussion that addresses that, and to discussion of re-establishing the option ![]()
Should be resolved in 6.4 This Week in Plasma: Great Stuff for 6.4 - KDE Blogs
