Idea: More features for Aurorae

So currently Aurorae only lets you change decoration size (I don’t remember properly.). It should have well, more features. KDE is supposed to be customizable, not locked down.

Like window title on the left. Like yeah.

Currently, you can do the left window title by, editing auroraerc in the folder of the theme you are using. But it is pretty broken.

I suggest you think this through more, and come up with a few features you’d like to see. Otherwise the discussion will be pretty silent.

Some tabs and one feature I need as “customization is my priority.”

This is a bit of a misconception, JFYI. KDE is not “supposed to be” anything other than what its contributors make it be.

Now, historically our community has produced software that was quite customizable. But in general this is not done for its own sake; it’s to accommodate diverse aesthetic tastes and workflows.

Another way to accommodate diverse aesthetic tastes is through themability; this way people can create, share, and use 3rd-party themes, which largely bypasses the need to offer customizability of every tiny little visual thing.

Given that you’re talking about Aurorae, which is a window decoration theming engine, I’d say that holds true: don’t go looking for a customizable Aurorae theme; go looking for an Aurorae theme the meets your aesthetic tastes and preferences. And if you can’t find one, make one!

That’s the intended method of self-satisfying here.

Or simply try another window decorator with a whole bunch of options, like , for example, klassy. And um…“supposed” to be?

what wallpaper do you use?

I think what is happening to KDE is they are removing the customization so they can add way more in Plasma 7/8/9/10/11 whatever.

No, I’m afraid you’re mistaken; that is not a thing that’s happening.
