Hello plasma people!
I have adopted KDE Plasma into my workflow as my main desktop, and it has been a big upgrade coming from Windows and XFCE distros as part of my switch to Fedora Linux. Thank you so much for the great desktop and ecosystem.
I came here to open a discussion about improving the “Desktops Pager Widget”

At the moment, like most things KDE, I think it already looks pretty good. However, that said, I think there is some room for improvement, mainly in usability and making it more informative at a glance.
My ideal design would be adding application icons in the middle of the windows on each desktop. I think this would make it much easier to quickly tell what applications are on each desktop while still keeping the current layout that shows the position and size of the windows.
I also had an idea for a hover animation with overlapping windows. When hovering over the top window, its opacity could be reduced to reveal the window below it, creating the effect of the windows swapping places without actually changing their real stacking order.
I am interested in trying to implement this myself, but I wanted to open a discussion first and see what Plasma developers, designers, and users think of the idea.
