Investment purchase bug

Win11
KMM ver: 5.2.1-fa164c8

I’m purchasing shares in an investment account. I’ve got two stock accounts setup to choose in the investment transaction. I type in the first few letters of the security, which shows the two securities I have set up. I select the second entry, as this is the security I need to record a transaction on. I tab the cursor over to the next field (Shares.) The Security changes to the first, away from the selection I chose.

Repeatable use case:

Setup new investment/brokerage account.

Create 2 Equities investment accounts (Account name, symbol, full name is all the information that’s needed.) I created “test1” & “test2”.

In investment account, create a new transaction:
Activity: Buy shares
Date: today
Security: type in '“test” which shows the 2 equities created above. Mouse click on the second (“test2”.) (Do not simply select “test2” from the dropdown list, it appears you must type in the prefix first, otherwise it won’t replicate the behavior.)

Tab to Shares field

Notice the Security changes to “test1”.

I couldn’t figure out why my valuations kept getting messed up after data entry. Now I know what to be aware of, I can look for it and manually fix.

wow! You’re right. It does seem weird. I found a work-around. Instead of choosing Test2 from the drop-down list after typing “test”, click on the small arrow on the right of the Security box. Then choose the security from that list. (If you type “test” as you did, it will be in the area of the TEST.) Then it stays on test2 as you go to Shares, etc. (As a side note, I wouldn’t invest in Test2…I hear their CEO is corrupt. )
