"Invisible" windows after update

Running KDE/Plasma on Fedora 41 with SDDM as the window manager. I believe
KDE on F41 is using Wayland.

Yesterday, I applied the latest batch of updates to F41 and strange things started happening. When I run some GUI applications, a new window will be created that I can only see in the “previews” or “thumbnails” when I use Alt-Tab, but is otherwise invisible, and I cannot switch to it. One of the affected applications is Google Chrome, but there are others.

However, if I connect through SSH and run an X server locally, the application works fine.

I tried reverting the updates but the problem remains, so I suspect that something somewhere in my configuration has been messed-up.

A different machine also running F41, KDE, etc. but with different graphics/screen/
resolution is not affected by the problem.

Any thoughts about what might be going on?

I figured out the problem. Somehow the second screen that I only occasionally use and is normally turned off became enabled in the settings. So the windows were getting “displayed” there. After disabling it, everything’s back to normal. I suspect this is more of a PEBCAK than anything to do with KDE.
