Is it possible to have different panel layout etc under different activities?

Plasma’s Activities are a great solution for independent workspaces for different purposes, and I really like this design, which is different from the virtual desktop. From the original design perspective, Activites should have been able to contain different plasma settings, such as themes, widgets, and so on. However, for some reason, settings such as the panel layout are shared between activities, and there is currently no way to use different panels and layouts in different activities. This issue has been discussed by many people, but despite the need, plasma has not provided this flexibility for many years. I want to know, what is preventing this feature from being implemented? Or, are there any plans to add this feature?

You can’t have different panels for different Desktop Activities

Sorry for unable to include links here.

If you’re looking to do all of those things, why not just create different user accounts and do it that way? Also, I don’t remember where I saw it, but I read somewhere that they’re going to do away with activities and just keep the virtual desktops. For the record, I like using the activities function to, but if I were looking to use completely different settings for everything, I’d just make a separate account and switch between the two.

I think originally that was possible or at least planned.

Might have run into difficulties doing it properly so it is currently not possible.

I use activities a lot however I also like that certain things are “the same” (or can at least configured that way) between them.

Certainly an option but much more separated by default., making it at the same time easier to do things differently but also more difficult to things the same way, e.g. share data or apps/windows.

not possible at the moment.

activities has taken a back seat to plasma 6 work which should be settling down soon.

the last plans i heard about were making each activity contain a full set of kde .dot files so each one could be configured differently, but as of right now you can only change a few things like wallpaper and such.

It was possible with Latte.
