Is it possible to land on the desktop from the Overview page?

I just want to click my desktop and go there instead of going back on the last used app… so annoying. If i want to open an app I’ll click on it, if i want to open or close a desktop I’ll click on it, if I want to go to the desktop I’ll click on it.

on plasma 5 while in overview, i can click on the desktop area (being careful not to hit the delete icon) and it will just take me to that desktop.

are you saying it doesn’t do that for you?

are you using plasma 6?

this would sound like a regression and should be reported to bug.kde.org

In system settings.
Oh sorry, this was for the alt+tab and meta+tab switcher, not the one you was using. I guess you already know about the meta+d for showing desktop, and you can also configure a hot corner to show desktop when pointing your mouse past the corner, you find it in Settings/Screen edges.
edit; I can also confirm that I have the same behavior as you, when clicking on the “background” it just takes me back to the last used window.(Plasma6)
A stupid workaround would be to always have a dolphin window open with the desktop folder.
